Early bird registration for the 2014 Fight for Air Tower Climb at the Oakbrook Terrace Tower ends this Sunday, Dec. 8.

More than 1,000 people will climb the 31 floors and 680 steps to the top of the tallest building in the suburbs on Feb. 9 as part of the American Lung Association in Greater Chicago’s 2014 Fight for Air Climb

Those registering by Sunday will pay $15, those registering after Dec. 8 will pay $25.

Participants come from far and wide to "tackle the tower" to raise money to end lung disease. Climbers help improve the lives of patients across the country and locally in Illinois. Ninety cents of every dollar raised goes directly to education, research and advocacy. This "vertical road race" also challenges participants to do something positive for their own personal health and fitness.

The event begins at 8 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Oakbrook Terrace Tower, One Tower Lane.

There are four ways to participate: Start a team, join a team, join as an individual or volunteer. Registration is open online at FightForAirClimb.org or by calling (312) 781-1100. For more information about the American Lung Association of Greater Chicago, visit www.LungIL.org.
