It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for when you're done with work and ready to get out. Check our picks for the activities to hit.

1. BEER TASTING
Where/When: 4-7 p.m. Friday at , 151 Rice Lake Sq, Wheaton.
Why Go: Sample some of summer's best , enjoy some snacks and listen to live music in the beer and wine department.
Pricing: $5 donation to PADS.

2. COMEDY NIGHT
Where/When: 8:15-11 p.m. Friday at , 121 W. Front St, Wheaton.
Why Go: See Mike Toomey, Mike Preston and the .
Pricing: $70 per couple includes appetizers, desserts and one drink each.

3. JAZZ FESTIVAL
Where/When: 4-10 p.m. Saturday at Naperville Community Concert Center, 105 E. Benton Ave.
Why Go: Spyro Gyra, a popular jazz fusion band is the headliner. Proceeds from the Naperville Jazz Festival go to benefit Project H.E.L.P.
Pricing: $25 in advance, $30 at the gate

4. BOOKFEST
Where/When: 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday in downtown Glen Ellyn.
Why Go: The Annual BookFest 2011: A Celebration of Books welcomes all ages to enjoy literary events throughout downtown. The keynote speaker is New York Times Bestselling Author and Lombard native, Mary Doria Russell, who will speak at the Glen Ellyn Library at 2 p.m. Registration is required. Authors will be appearing at various venues all day. A luncheon is at noon at Glen Oak Restaurant.
Pricing: Free (lunch event $15).

5. GLEN ELLYN GARDEN WALK
Where/When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at 505 Crescent Blvd, Glen Ellyn.
Why Go: For many area gardeners the Glen Ellyn , sponsored by Bridge Communities, has become an annual rite of passage from spring into summer. As an added bonus, Garden Walk ticket holders can attend a free hands-on class on the tips and tools needed to successfully prune shrubs, flowering trees and perennials.
Pricing: $20.
