STATE CHAMPS! Glenbard West 'D' stops L-W East Cold

Glenbard West was victorious over Lincoln-Way East at the Class 7A state championship game held at Memorial Stadium in Champaign.  Henry Haeffner's first-half passing and Hayden Carlson's ferocious defense powered the Hilltoppers to a heart-stopping victory.

Golden Eagles Football Coach Mike Dayton Stepping Down After 13 Years

After 13 years coaching football for the Glen Ellyn Golden Eagles, Mike Dayton was ready to spend some time sitting on the sidelines. Dayton started coaching the team when his oldest son, Tyler, was 5 years old. Today, Tyler is a senior.

Glenbard West Grad Melody Swartz Named MacArthur Fellow

A 1987 graduate of Glenbard West was among 23 people who were named to the MacArthur Fellows Class of 2012.

Glen Ellyn Man Wins $1 Million in Powerball

A Glen Ellyn man found a $1 million surprise sitting on his desk. Along with a bunch of other lottery tickets, Ron Yurcus had a winning Powerball ticket waiting to be discovered, when he realized in November, he was a winner.

Volunteers Spread Joy of Flashes of Hope

Carrie Gowans and Jori Appleberry were the focus of a story about Flashes of Hope, a nonprofit that helps families with children with cancer or chronic illnesses enjoy a free photo shoot. 

Business was booming for The Next Stop Coffee Shop, which took over the coffee shop at the Metra Train Depot in the summer of 2012. The owners noticed an increase in sales of coffee and pastries since opening.

Community Invited to 75th Celebration for the Lake Ellyn Boathouse Sunday

The Lake Ellyn Boathouse celebrated its birthday with a celebration in November. The boathouse opened for use on Nov. 12, 1937 and The Glen Ellyn Park District hosted a first-ever celebration for the facility.

Glenbard West junior Madeline Perez set a course record in the Class 3A girls race and Glenbard South junior John Wold won the Class 2A boys race at cross country state finals in Peoria.

When an opportunity aligned with their skill sets and their love of art and nightlife, they found the perfect match in Bottle & Bottega.
