Glen Ellyn ranks sixth in recycling in DuPage County. See where other top recyclers stack up.
Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills residents are beating the national average in terms of recycling.
In its annual "Market Facts" feature, Crain's Chicago Business published a series of interactive maps breaking down population, demographic data and consumer habits for the Chicago area.
Using data from the 2000 U.S. Census and information from the Economic and Social Research Institute, Crain's assessed the recycling habits of individual ZIP codes and assigned an overall score to each. An index of 100 represents the national average. Anything above 100 indicates that people were more likely to have recycled in the past year, while anything below 100 means they were less likely.
