Glen Ellyn Park District executive director resigns, Glenbard South has "soft lockdown" and Nicor Gas gets permits, zoning variation approved.

The Daily Herald reports that Cory Atwell, executive director for the Glen Ellyn Park District, will resign from his position after 17 years. 

A special meeting will be held Friday to hire a search firm with a replacement expected by April or May.

Glenbard South Has "Soft Lockdown"

The Naperville Sun reports that Glenbard South High School was on "soft lockdown" Wednesday afternoon after a threat to the building was found by a student.

Glenbard South High Principal Terri Hanrahan said  students were moved to the gymnasium as a precaution even though the threat isn't thought to be credible. 

Nicor Gas Gets Permits, Zoning Variation Approved 

The Glen Ellyn News reports that the Nicor Gas request for special-use permits and a zoning variation to use a facility were approved at Monday's Village Board meeting. 

Nicor Gas will use the facility, at 285 Roosevelt Road, while its new 200,000-square-foot facility at Finley Road is being built.
