Metra has canceled more than two dozen trains this evening because of continued hazardous weather conditions, reports the Chicago Tribune.

Trains may experience delays due to climate-related speed restrictions. Metra is working to utilize all possible measures available to combat extraordinary weather conditions, according to a service alert posted on the Metra website

The Union Pacific West Line, which runs through Glen Ellyn, has been affected.

  • 5:32 p.m. Outbound Trains #47 and #49 have not departed.
  • 4:59 p.m. Outbound Trains #2225 And #2241 will not be operating this evening.
  • 4:56 p.m. Outbound Train #45 scheduled to arrive in Geneva at 5:47 p.m. —a 20 to 30 minute delay.
Metra is encouraging passengers to plan for extra travel time to assure a "safe passage to and from your destination," according to the service alert.
