Deadline Looming to Enter Spellapalooza Competition

Registration to participate in the annual fundraiser for the Children's Resource Center is Friday, Feb. 15.

Time is running out for teams to sign up and participate in the 5th annual Spellapalooza. The event is a fundraiser for the Children’s Resource Center.

The deadline for teams to enter to participate is Friday, Feb. 15.

To date there are 14 teams registered to participate and take on Alphabet Soup, the current defending champs.

The event raises money for the resource center and its mission to provide literacy and life skills to low-income households in Glen Ellyn, according to the organization.  The center provides tutoring in all academic subjects.

Teams participating this year include BaM (the Bookstore and Marcel’); The Glen Ellyn Fire Department; The Glen Ellyn Juniors; The Glenbard West and Glenbard South Key Clubs; Hadley students and teachers; the Glen Ellyn Public Library; teams from Abraham Lincoln, Ben Franklin and Forest Glen elementary schools; 1st Congregational Church Youth, Spellin’ for Ellen and Tutors from the resource center.

The event will be held on March 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the Glenbard West High School Auditorium.
