Central DuPage Hospital Tops List of Most Recommended Hospitals in Illinois: Report

One local hospital topped the list for the 10 most recommended hospitals in Illinois, according to a NerdWallet survey. 

Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield was recently listed as No. 1 on the NerdWallet list. The website rated more than 100 hospitals in Illinois to find the top 10 large hospitals that are most likely to be recommended by patients. 

According to NerdWallet, factors such as communication from doctors, how well pain was controlled, cleanliness, patient room atmosphere and how quickly patients received help were also considered in the rankings. 

"With 83 percent of patients reporting that they would definitely recommend the hospital, Central DuPage surpasses the nation’s average patient satisfaction rating by over 10 percent," according to the NerdWallet report. 

In February, Central DuPage Hospital was named one of the top 100 hospitals in the country in 2013 by Truven Health Analytics.

Truven Health Analytics on Monday released its 20th annual study identifying the 100 top U.S. hospitals based on their overall organizational performance. This was the sixth year in the past seven years CDH has been named one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals by Truven, according to a CDH news release.
