All the information you want and where to get free coffee tomorrow!

Here's a list of where Glen Ellyn stands:

Streets

The majority of Glen Ellyn's roads are clear. Major streets seem to be moving nicely, but there are few people out on the roads. Side streets are generally plowed, but only have one lane for the moment.

Police

Patti Taves at the Police Department said overall it was a slow night. Three stranded motorists spent the night in the department waiting area. Officers had a tough time getting around because of the snow, but are mostly back to normal operations. Taves said most calls last night were for cars going off the road.

Fire

Craig Eldridge at the fire department said he expects things to be back to normal tonight as well. Volunteers stayed at both stations last night to be safe, but Eldridge said that it was overall a normal night.

"All and all, it was very good," Eldridge said.

Volunteers will be returning home tonight, but will be on call as normal.

Business

The majority of Glen Ellyn businesses were closed today, but many will reopen tomorrow. Glen Oak said that they will open at 6 a.m. tomorrow and will have free coffee until 11 a.m.

The Village

Driving around today, I saw a lot of people digging out cars with shovels and clearing their driveways with snowblowers. Glen Ellyn's kids seemed to be the most happy about the storm and now get two days of school off! Lots of sledding and fort building going on out there as well.
