Barbershop Chorus Is Looking For Men Who Like to Sing

This is your chance to experience four-part harmony in barbershop style.

The Chorus of DuPage, a men’s barbershop chorus, will host a guest night from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 815 South Washington St., just south of Edward Hospital in Naperville.

The chorus extends an invitation to men of all ages, from teens to seniors, to attend a night of singing, refreshments and camaraderie.  Experienced singers and new singers who value the joy of singing are invited to share this evening to learn more about barbershop music and the activities of the Chorus of Du Page.

Music, laugher and friendship are just a few of the things one will find with the Chorus of Du Page. If you are a man who likes to sing, this is your chance to experience four-part harmony in barbershop style and to learn more about how your involvement in this wonderful hobby can bring not only personal satisfaction, but also listening pleasure to your family and hundreds of audience members.

The Chorus of DuPage is one of about 800 Barbershop Harmony Society men’s choruses throughout North America. Members meet regularly to practice, socialize, perform and sing a cappella harmony in barbershop style.

The Chorus of Du Page repertoire includes special arrangements of today’s ballads and upbeat songs, popular show tunes, inspirational hymns, patriotic songs and, of course, old-time barbershop favorites.

The chorus performs throughout the Chicago area, at parades, fairs and festivals.  They also perform at senior citizen centers and private entertainment venues. Reservations are not required and there is no obligation when attending this free Chorus of Du Page guest night Sept. 24.  For more information, contact Bruce Rhoades at (708) 243-0749 or email Bruce@rbihomes.com.
