Vote YES for the Glenbard District 87 Referendum on March 18

As a proud alum of Glenbard East High School, I strongly support the District 87 referendum which will appear on the March 18 ballot. My husband and I currently have children in a District 44 school and we could not be more pleased with the progress they have made, both academically and in their social emotional development.  This has been possible because the staff, extra-curricular opportunities, and facilities. We would like to make sure that this foundation of excellence in learning and development which started in District 44 continues as our children enter the high school phase of their education in District 87.

Attending Glenbard East I had experiences with staff members who made a difference in my life; many of them are still there.  The extra-curricular opportunities helped mold me into who I am today.  In conversations with parents of current East students, I have heard those same opportunities exist today.  Let’s make sure the facilities of Glenbard East match the amazing staff and extra-curricular opportunities available within the building.

My husband and I have chosen to raise our children in the community where I grew up in because I am proud of the education I received throughout my entire school career.  Lombard has always been a community that values education.  I urge all community members; whether you currently have a child attending Glenbard East, or will have a child there in the future, or have had a child there in the past, to please vote yes for the referendum.  Even if you do not have children that have or will attend Glenbard East, I urge you to vote yes for the referendum because a community that values education is a strong community all around. Quality high schools contribute to property values and Glenbard East should be viewed as a community asset.
