Travel with the Glen Ellyn Woman’s Club Back to the Truman Era and Meet Bess

Tuesday, October 1 at 1:00 pm in the Betty Clayton Room of the Glen Ellyn Civic Center, 535 Duane Street, meet Bess Truman. The Glen Ellyn Woman’s Club has invited Wheaton resident, Jane Wilson, who has done research on Harry Truman’s wife, Bess, for over ten years, to present a special program. She will bring  memorabilia, pictures, and slides that will portray Bess as lots more than Harry’s wife.  Wearing an outfit from the late 40’s and early 50’s, Wilson shares a very personal narrative of Bess’s  life in the White House and after.  Guests are welcome and can call 630-469-4516 to make a reservation.  The Glen Ellyn Woman’s Club is a service organization and they are requesting that all members and guests contribute non perishable grocery items or bring monetary donations for  the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry.  Please bring them to the meeting at 1:00 pm.  on Tuesday, Oct. 1.
