PE Waivers
Submitted by Glenbard Township High School District 87
Despite a Patch reader's erroneous post to Patch Speak Out, the Glenbard District 87 Policy Committee was never scheduled to discuss physical education waivers on June 2. This is not a discussion topic on June 2 and expanding PE waivers is not a possibility for next school year. Students’ schedules are set for next fall. Teachers have been hired and the budget set accordingly. There are no plans to expand physical education waivers for next year. Glenbard seniors who are in-season varsity athletes and are enrolled in 7 classes with no study hall are eligible for a physical education waiver. The principal, upon recommendation from the guidance counselor, has the discretion to approve PE waivers for seniors who are enrolled in seven classes with no study hall who wish to take a class required for admission to an institution of higher learning or for the completion of graduation requirements.
