Loyola Offering Lung Cancer CT Screening

Loyola University Health System is inviting smokers and former smokers to enroll in lung cancer screening, which has been shown to reduce the number of deaths from lung cancer by 20 percent.

The screening includes a low-dose CT scan, which takes less than 15 minutes.

A person between the ages of 50 and 80 may be eligible for screening if he or she has smoked at least a pack of cigarettes a day for 20 or more years.

Screenings are being held at the Loyola Center for Health at Burr Ridge, 6800 N. Frontage Road and Loyola Center for Health at River Forest, 7617 W. North Ave. (A screening does not obligate a person to return to Loyola for further screenings for evaluation of any findings or for any further services.)

To see if you are eligible for lung cancer screening, call Loyola’s Cancer Information Service at (708) 226-4357(708) 226-4357.
