Glen Crest's PE Department and Math Department Add Two New Teachers
Glen Crest Middle School welcomes two new teachers to their faculty, math teacher Danielle Johnson and physical education teacher, Danny Sheridan. Taking on the 8th grade PE teaching assignment, Danny Sheridan graduated from Northern Illinois University and landed this first year teaching assignment. He is familiar with the middle school since he worked at the middle school in PE last year. Along with his 8th grade classes, he will be coaching 8th grade boys basketball. His special interests are basketball, running, writing, refereeing youth sports and reading. “I am looking forward to creating a positive environment where the kids look forward to coming to PE everyday and want to participate to their fullest abilities,” Sheridan stated as he looks forward to the new school year.
Danielle Johnson graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago Campus and was a substitute teacher in Community Consolidated School District 89 for four years. She will be teaching mathematics at Glen Crest and hopes to be a leader in the FOR CLUB (Friends of Rachel) that was established by the Rachel’s Challenge Program at the middle school.
Johnson’s goal for the 2013-2014 school year is to challenge students to achieve his/her greatest potential.
