Glen Crest Creates AOK Experience for Bus Driver Appreciation Week

AOK was created by Glen Crest Middle School students who are members of the Rachel’s Challenge FOR (Friends of Rachel ) Club.  The acronym, AOK,  stands for Atmosphere of Kindness and that is the goal of FOR, to create an atmosphere of kindess at the middle school.  The club organized Bus Driver Appreciation Week during the last part of October.
Twenty to thirty bus drivers and office staff attended a Pancake Breakfast on Wednesday morning, Oct. 30, at Glen Crest.  Fifty FOR club members helped serve and 20 Glen Crest staff members participated as well!
Rachel’s Challenge is a nationwide anti-bullying organization that provides activities, suggestions and help for  students to  participate in campaigns of kindness in their schools.  The FOR Club at Glen Crest meets two or three times a month and the meetings are open to any student or staff at anytime.  There is an average of 50 core students in the club.  For information about Rachel’s Challenge or the FOR Club, call the Glen Crest office at 630-469-5220.
