For Glen Crest Kids Donating to the Food Pantry Really Pays Off

The Glen Crest Middle School Student Union organization coordinated the Glen Crest Glen Ellyn Food Pantry Drive in November.  It was a major success because of a great idea to get the entire student body involved.  If a student brought in at least ten non perishable grocery items he/she earned the opportunity to play Dodge Ball with volunteer members of the faculty on Thursday, December 5 during the lunch/rec periods.  Seventy-five students met the criteria and were ready to heave their dodge balls at their favorite teachers.  Physical education teacher and coach Corey Toppel stood his ground as a group
of seventh grade girls took aim and fired.  This experience was for a good cause and Glen Crest achieved the best  and largest Food Pantry collection in the history of the middle school.
