DuPage June 14 Walk for CareNet: "With or Without Your Shoes"

Walk for CareNet Pregnancy Services

The 2014 annual Walk for CareNet is on Saturday, June 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. at four separate DuPage County locations: Hinsdale, Naperville, Wheaton, and Wood Dale.  For the first time, this year’s event features a “virtual walk,” allowing supporters to walk “without their shoes” by fundraising online.

“Throughout the many years that CareNet has served our community, thousands of people have supported pregnant women by participating in our annual Walk for CareNet,” said Barbara Singer, President of CareNet DuPage.  “This year’s theme, ‘Walk for CareNet:  With or Without Your Shoes!,’ conveys the opportunity for people to support pregnant women in need by joining the walk festivities on June 14 or simply by fundraising through social media online.”  Walk proceeds help cover the costs of the free services that CareNet provides, including pregnancy tests, counseling, and ultrasounds.  “I encourage everyone who has a heart for pregnant women in need to come out on and walk in support of women and their families,” said Singer.  All four walk sites feature a family-friendly 5k walk and children’s activities.
