Glen Ellyn Community Rallies to Say ENOUGH
to Cancer!

The LiveLikeKatie Foundation, LLK, proudly announces Cancerpalooza; a music fundraising
extravaganza taking place at Maryknoll Park in Glen Ellyn on Saturday,
September 21st, 2013, 2:00-10:30pm. Cancerpalooza will be a
continuous live music festival including various artists and bands with
anticipated crowds in excess of 1,000 supporters. Tap House restaurateur, Danny
Wronkowski, will be serving up delicious food and refreshments. It is the organizers’
greatest hope that Glen Ellyn and surrounding communities, businesses, and
families will come together to be a part of this epic event, enjoying great
music and raising necessary funds for cancer research.

LLK, established to honor the memory of
Katie Vogg, a longtime resident of Glen Ellyn who died in 2011 from a rare form
of cancer, is committed to raising money for important cancer research. In
establishing LLK, it is her family
and friends’ mission to follow Katie’s examples of goodness and unselfish service,
and do everything in their power to eradicate cancer. It is their collective
goal that someday a cancer diagnosis may not be the dreadful news that it is
today.  In raising and channeling funds for
cancer research, they endeavor to equip doctors and researchers to figure out cancer
once and for all. In the not too distant future, their wish is to hear doctors
say, “It’s just cancer and we can cure this.”

To raise substantial funds to support cancer research, Katie
Vogg’s music-loving family and friends have conceived Cancerpalooza, which is
designed to: 1) Bring a community of people together for a day of music and fun,
2) Recognize the challenges that cancer brings to our extended community, and 3)
Most importantly, raise necessary funds to endow cancer research.

Admission for the event is $40 prior to September 15th
and $50 after September 15th. Tickets represent a donation to the
LLK Foundation, and are deductible to the purchaser as applicable. Once costs
are covered for this event, 100% of the proceeds will support the ongoing
cancer research at the University of Chicago Cancer Research Center, under the
direction of Dr. Daniel Catenacci. Sponsorship
opportunities for the event are available.
