Glenbard West Boosters Seeking Back-to-School Week Volunteers

Also: Area synagogue Congregation Etz Chaim is hosting an ice cream social tonight.

Volunteers sought for back-to-school week: Glenbard High School District 87 is seeking volunteers to help with back-to-school week at Glenbard West High School, Aug. 15 and 16 and Aug. 19 and 20.

About 50 volunteers are needed each day to help keep the process running smoothly. During the back-to-school days students receive class schedules and textbooks; purchase items such as workbooks, novels, PE uniforms and goggles; have ID and yearbook pictures taken and receive transportation information, if applicable, according to the district. 

The morning shifts take place  from 8:15 to 11:15 a.m.and the afternoons shifts are 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. There is also an evening shift on Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 4:45 to 7:15 p.m.

Interested volunteers should send an e-mail to booksale@gwboosters.com and include your name and your student’s grade, first and second choice of the day and shifts you’d like to volunteer along with an e-mail and phone number.

Ice cream social at area synagogue: Congregation Etz Chaim will hold an ice cream social tonight at 6:30 p.m. The synagogue's rabbis will be on hand along with the education director, board members and congregants. Children will have the opportunity to participate in arts and crafts, while adults can learn more about the congregation and its offerings.
