Glen Ellyn's Clock Tower Gets Cellular Update

Also: The B.R. Ryall YMCA Swim Team competed in national competition and the Glen Ellyn Public Library's new event guide is out now.

Swimmers make nationals: The B.R. Ryall YMCA Swim Team qualified for national competitions including one being held to Atlanta, GA for a national swim competition. The team competed in a number of meets over the course of the summer. Team members range in age from 6 to 18, according to the YMCA.

Clock tower gets an upgrade: The clock tower located at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center is under construction, according to the Village of Glen Ellyn. The work is expected to last about three months and will add new cell tower equipment. The clock will remain protected from the elements while the construction is underway.

Farmers Market downtown today: The Glen Ellyn Farmer’s Market is a Friday tradition worth exploring until it ends in October. The farmers market is held every Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Oct. 30. The market is located in the Main Street Parking Lot between Hillside and Duane streets, south of the railroad tracks.

What you’ll find: produce, flowers, organic meats, baked goods, jewelry and more.
