DuPage Boomers announces its next Book Club selection: Long Drive Home, by Will Allison.

“In his riveting new novel, Will Allison, critically acclaimed author of What You Have Left, crafts an emotional and psychological drama that explores the moral ambiguities of personal responsibility as it chronicles a father’s attempt to explain himself to his daughter—even though he knows that in doing so, he risks losing her,” according to Amazon.com.

“Life can change in an instant because of one small mistake. For Glen Bauer, all it takes is a quick jerk of the steering wheel, intended to scare a reckless driver. But the reckless driver is killed, and just like that, Glen’s placid suburban existence begins to unravel,” also from Amazon.com.

With popularity for the Book Club growing steadily, the selections are chosen by members.  New this month, members are invited to meet for dinner before the book discussion begins to include more time to socialize.

Catering to residents age 50+, DuPage Boomers is designed to promote healthy lifestyles with recreational activities geared specifically for them. A relatively NEW recreation cooperative, DuPage Boomers is able to provide more access to more recreational programs with its regional approach by opening access to programs from nine member park districts. With DuPage Boomers, adults can enjoy any of the featured programs as long as they are a resident of any member park district. That means they can live in one member community and sign up for a program held in another member community at in-district fees.

Every season, there are new and exciting programs including fitness, events, sports leagues, educational series, social outings and more. The key is to register online at the DuPage Boomers website at  www.dupageboomers.com.This is the only way to register for the programs and enjoy the exclusive fee benefits.

A complete summer program listing can be found at www.dupageboomers.com. For more information, contact Becky Prince, program supervisor, at 630-681-0962 ext 161 or beckyp@dupageboomers.com

DuPage Boomers is a cooperative by nine park districts within DuPage County: Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, Roselle, Warrenville, West Chicago, Wheaton and Winfield.
