With the addition of one new face, the District 89 School Board will change little after the election—in both members and direction. Residents voted to retain Board President Lori Gaspar and board member Terry Lachcik, and added likely newcomer Tim Jedlicka on Tuesday night. The race between challengers Jedlicka and Arthur Hilliard was a tight race, with Hilliard losing by only 17 votes. It was a slow day at the polls for some of Glen Ellyn's election judges today.  For the first hour and a half after opening, the Civic Center only saw about 17 residents come in to vote, judges said earlier today. "I think this is particularly slow," said Linda Gilbert, president of Citizens for Glen Ellyn Preservation and an election judge at the Civic Center today. "The most we had in here at one time today was four people in line and three in the voting booths." Peter Ladesic: I am proud to be a forty-five year resident of Glen Ellyn, where along with my very patient wife Lori, am raising our twin daughters Mary and Hannah and son Jonah. The Glen Ellyn League of Women Voters Sunday afternoon hosted a forum for candidates in several local races that will be decided April 5. Included were school board candidates from Glenbard District 87 and two of its feeder districts, 89 and 41, that serve Glen Ellyn residents. Each candidate gave an opening and closing statement. In between, they answered questions submitted by those in attendance.
