As i sit here at 10 pm watching my daughter Kaitlin race from corner to corner, flapping and reciting a sesame street episode (ecolalic speech), i realize that i have neglected to inform the general public of a very important event.
November 29, 2012 at 1 pm will be the start of the first congressional hearing on autism in ten years! To us warrior parents, it is a very important day!
Here is an interview with Senator Dan Burton regarding the hearing.
As the mother of a child severely impacted by autism, i am hopeful that progress will be made. I am doubtful that enough will be accomplished however.....
It is going to take an army to fight this battle.......where is there such an army you might ask? Look to your neighbors, relatives and friends.....those that are fighting the fight day in and out.....what we refer to as the warrior parents...
We need you to help us fight for our children and to raise awareness about this epidemic called autism!
I am told that we will be able to view the hearings on C-Span.
If you are interested in learning more about the hearings (what mainstream may not inform you of), please express an interest and i will deliver! As an activist and a Mom, i have a wealth of information that i would love to share!
I apologise for my brief and scattered thoughts here, however, i am dealing with my own autism battle, my daughter is anxious and disregulated tonight.....all the more reason for me to spread the word!
Peace, love and happiness always...
