Bring your creativity and your passion for writing to the “Writing Fiction for Children and Teens” workshop on Oct. 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s Mayslake Peabody Estate in Oak Brook.
Join teaching author Carmela Martino to learn the building blocks of writing fiction for children and teens in picture books, magazines, teen novels and more. Through discussion and writing exercises, you’ll learn how to develop characters, plots, settings and viewpoints in ways that will hook young readers and keep them turning the pages.
The workshop costs $50 per participant. Get more information and register by calling Mayslake Peabody Estate at 630-206-9566.
