Who Made a Difference in Glen Ellyn in 2012: Nominations Underway for Person of the Year

Is there a person you know who has made Glen Ellyn a better place thanks to his or her actions this year? Tell us by nominating that person. Deadline is 5 p.m. Wed., Dec. 20. Readers will then vote on the nominees.

While the national media begins its year end coverage of the big names and issues of 2012, we are going to take a look closer to home.

Who helped make Glen Ellyn a better place to live in 2012? Whether it’s your neighbor who volunteers with an after school program or spends time giving back on a local board or a local official you think has helped change things for the better, who would you choose? Maybe it’s you!

If you know someone who made Glen Ellyn a better place in the past year, contributed time and energy to various causes or even made a smaller impact that's still important, nominate him or her. Now's the time to shine a spotlight on that man or woman who doesn't draw the attention he or she so richly deserves.

Fill out the form on this page by 5 p.m. Wed., Dec. 19. The nominees will be listed, and readers will vote for a winner, who will be featured in Glen Ellyn Patch's Year in Review coverage.

You can nominate yourself, someone you've worked with or even someone you've just read about that might deserve this recognition. Any questions? E-mail Local Editor Mary Ann Lopez at maryl@patch.com.

Note: The inclusion of all nominees is at the discretion of the editor, and his decision is final.
