Trustees to Consider New Village Manager
At tonight's village board meeting, trustees could hire a new village manager.
Tonight Glen Ellyn's village trustees could appoint a new village manager.
According to tonight's agenda, the board will consider approval of an employment agreement for a new village manager.
Since Steve Jones stepped down late last year, Terry Burghard has been filling in during the interim.
Mark Franz, Homewood's village manager, is expected to take on the role, according to a TribLocal report.
Also on tonight's agenda, the board will hear a special presentation from the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company.
The presentation comes after David W. Garmoe, former volunteer firefighter and treasurer, was arrested and charged with stealing more than $260,000 from the fire company.
Following the arrest, the village immediately put into effect a new auditing system that will monitor the fire company's accounts.
Tonight the board could also approve the purchase of land at 339 Roosevelt Road in the amount of $97,500, as part of the Lambert Road right-turn lane project.
Tonight's meeting starts at 8 p.m., at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center.
