1. Community Garage Sale

Why Go: Why not shop for some bargains? The Glen Ellyn Park District is hosting the annual community garage sale at Main Street Park where there are sure to be some great deals!

2. Pottery Classes for Adults
Where/When: 1-3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, 263 Sheffield Ln., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137
Why Go: Start a new hobby with you hubby (or wife) this Saturday.
Pricing: $20 for 2-hour session
3. Bump Club for Soon-to-be Mommys
Where/When: 8: 45 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, 100 Oakbrook Ctr, Oak Brook, IL 60523 (Oakbrook Center Microsoft Store)
Why Go: If you’re expecting join other soon-to-be moms at this event that discusses nutrition, childproofing and everything in between. There’s even a pre- and post-natal workout to start off the morning.

4. INCORRUPTIBLE
Where/When: 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Wheaton Drama - Playhouse 111, 111 N. Hale St.
Why Go: This hilarious farce is set in 1250 A.D. France. Things are indeed dark in the Dark Ages! The river has flooded again, the chandler’s shop has gone up in smoke, and Sainte Foy, the monastery’s patron saint, has not worked a miracle in 13 years.
Pricing: $13-$16.
5. FALL FESTIVAL
Where/When: 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at DuPage Convalescent Center, 400 N. County Farm Rd., Wheaton.
Why Go: Festival-goers will help celebrate DuPage Convalescent Center’s 123 years of service to DuPage County. The festivities will include a craft sale, bake sale, raffle and silent auction, kid’s games, book fair, craft and flea market vendors, scarecrow patch, car show, a garage sale, mum sale, and food and entertainment, and new for 2011, a petting zoo.

6. AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS THEATRE-HIKE
Where/When: 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Morton Arboretum, 4100 Lincoln Ave., Lisle.
Why Go: "Around the World in 80 Days" is performed while hiking through the Arboretum grounds. Each theatre-hike presents a different scene at a different location on the Arboretum grounds. Audience members walk to each location to enjoy the unfolding story. Regular hikes, which can cover up to two miles with multiple stops along the way, are on Saturdays, and low-impact hikes (suitable for strollers, walkers and wheelchairs) are on Sundays.

7. USED BOOK SALE
Where/When: 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Glen Ellyn Public Library, 400 Duane St.
Why Go: The sale sponsored by the Friends of the Library invites patronts to browse the shelves in the basement for a variety of bargain-priced books.
Pricing: Free.
8. STARGAZING
Where/When: 7-10:30 p.m. Saturday at Cantigny Gardens & Grounds, 1s151 Winfield Rd., Wheaton.
Why Go: View planets and stars through various telescopes and learn how to identify star constellations with the naked-eye. Children will enjoy making their own colored sand keychain in the Visitors Center to take home. Viewing will take place on the Parade Field outside of the Visitors Center.
