Students to Celebrate Gratitude Day Wednesday

Volunteers are still being sought to help out with the after school event at District 87 schools.

From Glenbard District 87

Students in Glenbard Township High School District 87 will take time to express their appreciation during the annual Glenbard Gratitude Day on Wednesday.

After school on Nov. 14, students are encouraged to gather in their school cafeteria with their team, club and friends and write a thank you note to a school staff member and/or family member.  Art supplies and pizza will be provided.
Glenbard Gratitude Day happens after school on Nov. 14 in the cafeteria at each Glenbard high school.

We would like to thank all those involved with Glenbard Gratitude Day – the ACTS (Advocating Character Through Service) Committee, dedicated parents, students and staff who are volunteering their time.

The ACTS committee helps students develop an understanding about the importance and impact of service and to promote ethical, compassionate conduct.
Volunteers are needed to help host these events, and donations of art supplies and snacks are much appreciated.

To lend your support, please contact the following people: Glenbard South, Cindy Christensen at 858-0038 or; Glenbard West, Kathy Gilligan at 606-8563 or; Glenbard East, Dawn Zatt at 424-7179 or; and Glenbard North, Debra Cartwright at 681-3190.

“Cultivating an “attitude of gratitude” has been linked to better health, sounder sleep, less anxiety and depression, higher long-term satisfaction with life and kinder behavior toward others.  Studies show that feeling grateful makes people less likely to turn aggressive when provoked.” – John Tierney, 2011
