Remembering 9/11: Where Were You?

We want to know where you were on Sept. 11 and how you reacted to President Obama's announcement.

Almost ten years after the worst terrorist attack against the United States, President Barack Obama announced the death of Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind 9/11.

In a special televised speech Sunday night the President proclaimed that the Al Qaeda leader has been killed during a military operation in Pakistan and that the U.S was in possession of his body.

On Sept. 11, 2001, more than 3,000 people were killed when Al Qaeda launched terrorist attacks on the United States. Ever since, the U.S. has been trying to track down bin Laden.

I was woken up by my daughter's father on 9/11. He told me to come watch the tv when I said I didn't believe him that the trade centers had gotten hit. I watched the news and before I left for work, one building collapsed. By the time I'd gotten to work and settled into my desk, the second building collapsed. At the time I worked claims intake for commercial lines at Hartford Insurance Group. We insured American Airlines, along with quite a few companies who were headquartered in the towers. It was so sad taking calls from people over the next few weeks about missing and injured....even dead....employees.

I'm not convinced that it was actually him that was killed. Not saying that it wasn't, just not convinced that it was. Just because the government "told me so", doesn't make it true.
