Police Investigate Vehicle Found in Lake Ellyn
No one was injured in the incident that occurred at 4 a.m. on June 4.
Officers discovered a truck and trailer in the lake at Lake Ellyn Park on June 4 around 4 a.m.
According to the report, the incident occurred at the north end of the lake which is near the intersection of Oak Street and Riford Road. The first officers went into the water to see if there were any individuals in the vehicle, no one was found.
The Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company then deployed a dive team to confirm that nobody was in the vehicle.
Heavy equipment crews were called to remove the truck and trailer from the lake. Officers then determined that the truck and trailer had been reported stolen to the DuPage County Sheriff's Department earlier that same night from an unincorporated area in Glen Ellyn.
Officers are questioning individuals that were located near the area of the incident but no charges have been filed in connection with the stolen truck.

Someone, somewhere knows. For the sake of the vehicle owner, those who stole it, and the Glen Ellyn police, I hope someone comes forward.
It's interesting that this report states that no charges were filed when another online story (different source) stated that it was 4 youths who stole it (indicative of the identities, no?).

Joe,
I believe the facebook people are recommending that other people read this "unusual to Glen Ellyn" story.
I don't see how that has to do with knowing anything about the identity of the perpetrators.
