Park District Holds Public Hearing on Proposed Tax Levy Increase
Tonight's meeting starts at 7 p.m.
Tonight, Glen Ellyn Park District commissioners invite residents to voice their questions or concerns over a proposed 2011 tax levy increase. The Park District is considering a levy total of $6,125,614.
Without the increase, Superintendent of Finance and Personnel Nick Cinquegrani said there's a possibility services would be cut. Cinquegrani said the increase in taxes the Park District would collect is needed to offset operating costs.

More for the park district, and without services will be cut. I look forwrad to hearing the specific services and operating costs thus one can determine the level of importance of these services and the possible alternatives. 6 million seems a lot if tis is additional to the existing budget, especially if presented as a percentage.

Make the cuts!!...
increase program fees!!!
... keep the levy flat or decrease it!!
Cut staff/cut expenses!!
People cannot continue to pay higher taxes for non-essential services of the Park District.
Our taxes to the State of IL just went up 66%... Enough already!
