An independent feature film by Glen Ellyn filmmaker Erin Dalian has been chosen as a finalist in the GloryReelz Christian Film Festival in Detroit, where it will make its premiere on May 12. Dalian filmed Broken & Beautiful in the spring of 2011 in Chicago and the suburbs. Her short film, Five Days, is premiering in Los Angeles at the Life Fest Film Festival the weekend of May 3-5.

Broken & Beautiful weaves together stories of the lives of members of All Saints Church. Through the music of contemporary Christian artists, the characters’ dark secrets are exposed, despite their best efforts to cover their imperfections. With themes of judgment and hypocrisy, forgiveness and unconditional love, Broken & Beautiful deals head-on with struggles in today's world. Broken & Beautiful stars an ensemble cast: Annelyse Ahmad of Skokie, Danish Alidino of Chicago, Jackson Brunsting of Plainfield, Timothy Cross of Aurora, Martin Gonzalez of Glen Ellyn, Julie Hurt of Chicago, Sean Marcus McDonnell of Skokie, Devon Moon of Naperville, Ann Morton of Memphis, Tennessee, Mary K. Nigohosian of Batavia, Peter Sipla of Warrenville and Felecia Thompson of Chicago.

Five Days was produced as part of Life Fest Film Festival’s “5x5 for Life Filmmaker’s Challenge.” Dalian had five days to write, shoot and edit a 3 to 5 minute short.

Five Days stars Shynell Owen of Naperville, Sean Neilsen of Elmhurst, Candace Ann O'Brien of Naperville, Chad Hamilton of LaGrange Park, Roberta Chung of Chicago, and Teresa, Josephine and Peter Gravel of Carol Stream, with cinematography by Nicholas Gray of Villa Park.
