Today the community of Glen Ellyn gathered to celebrate Halloween with a parade and trick-or-treating in the downtown area.

"It is a fun Saturday Halloween," said resident Mark McMurray. "I am here with my 2-year-old daughter and this is a great thing the town does."

After the parade was over, children and families were let loose to trick-or-treat at the local businesses.

"Trick-or-treating in Glen Ellyn is the greatest thing on earth," said T.J. Salerno, dressed as a clown, just after he finished directing traffic to help locals cross the street.

Student teacher and leader of the band that played in the parade, Tim Higus  said "this is a great opportunity to work with the community and chamber. It is great to see the costumes as well as the community unification."
