It's with a heavy heart that I write this post. 

For more than a year I've served as the editor for Glen Ellyn Patch and Wednesday will be my last day.

In my time as editor, my goal was to make the site a place for a two-way conversation. I didn't want the site to be a place where I was only dictating news and information. I hoped to form a new Glen Ellyn gathering place online.

Before I took over, I didn't realize how much I would enjoy this job. So much so that at times it seemed more like a way of life than a job. I pinched myself almost every day while serving this community. I couldn't believe I was lucky enough to have landed a dream job out of college, especially in a great town.

I want to thank you all for making this possible.

In Glen Ellyn I learned the true definition of a community. Although, there were periods of disagreement (Memorial Lights, anyone?) people debated tirelessly but left those public forums as neighbors. More recently, neighborhoods surrounding College of DuPage banned together to reach a compromise with the community college regarding long-term development. 

In these moments you all showed me that Glen Ellyn residents are tuned in and are passionate about the matters that impact your daily lives. 

You all taught me that community is about protecting and valuing what matters to you all most -- your homes, children, schools and the charm of this village.   

It's been an incredible journey. I've learned from you all and will miss bringing you the news each day. 

I thank you for inviting me into your homes and allowing me to tell your stories. 

Even though I only grew up 25 minutes away from Glen Ellyn, this village has captured a special place in my heart and truly feels like home. And even though I'm sad to leave, I'm excited to start a new adventure with the St. Louis Business Journal.

I've been fortunate to meet so many of my readers, and I do hope you'll keep in touch.
