District 87 Students Showing Gratitude to Veterans this Valentine's Day

Community members can help support students as they write notes and letters to hospitalized veterans.

In a continuing tradition, students at Glenbard District 87 schools will be showing their gratitude to veterans this Valentine’s Day.

Students from all four high schools will gather after school on Jan. 30 to create valentines for veterans who are hospitalized in hospitals in Illinois and overseas. Residents who want to support the effort are encouraged to consider chaperoning, donating art supplies or snacks.

The Advocating Character Through Service Committee, Students for Students, Key Club, Interact Club and the Glenbard Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports teams are sponsoring the event, according to District 87.

During the afterschool event, students gather with friends, clubs or teams to write letters or thank you notes, according to District 87. Once the notes and letters are written, the Village of Glendale Heights distributes them to hospitalized veterans.

Seriously Patch? Some of the kids in that photo are already graduated from College!
Can't you get some more current photos of these kids?
