On Dec. 1, Glen Ellyn residents have an opportunity to come together at the Town Meeting to learn about and choose prospective candidates for local village offices.

While any resident may run for village office, the Civic Betterment Committee has put together a slate of candidates it feels are qualified to fill positions ranging from Village President to Library Trustee. The committee is asking residents to choose those they wish to see on the ballot next April.

The candidates will be presented on Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the gymnasium at the Glen Ellyn Civic Center. During the meeting, residents may meet the candidates, hear them speak, make nominations and cast ballots, according to the Civic Betterment Committee.

In addition, early voting will be made available to residents, according to the committee. Early voting will take place at the Civic Center: Nov. 27, 3-5 p.m., Nov. 28, and Nov. 29, 5-7 p.m.

After the votes are tallied from early voting and the Town Meeting, the candidates with the highest number of votes will appear on the ballot for the April general election, according to the Civic Betterment Committee.

The 12 Glen Ellyn residents recruited, interviewed and slated by Civic Betterment Committee's nominating committee include:

Village President: Alex Demos, 50, President/CEO of Professional Paving & Concrete Company, Inc. and Mary Loch, 58, Controller in charge of protecting and improving the financial health of C.H.A.D., a non-profit property management company in Wheaton.

Village Trustee (three open seats): Dean Clark, 66, President & CEO, Graphic Chemical & Ink Company; Timothy Elliott, 41, a partner with the law firm of Rathje & Woodward, LLC.; Thomas Koprowski, 44, Associate Director at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission; Tim O’Shea, 45, Chief Operating Officer of a financial services firm and James Ozog, 60, a partner in Wiedner & McAuliffe, Ltd.

Village Clerk: Catherine Galvin, 48, is an account rep for a food broker.

Library Trustee (three open seats): Kelli Christiansen, 43, launched bibliobibuli professional editorial services in 2007;  Amelia (Amie) Fiedor, 37, works in a dental office in Glen Ellyn; Gina Meyers, 52, is a technology and business training consultant and Randolph "Ran" Sailer, 57, is a retired attorney  who most recently was General Counsel of a publicly traded mortgage insurance company
