Glenbard West rode the first-half passing heroics of Henry Haeffner to a 19-13 victory over Lake Zurich in a Class 7A football semifinal game Saturday in Glen Ellyn. Haeffner passed for 141 yards and two touchdowns in the first half as the Hilltoppers punched their ticket to the Nov. 24 state championship game in Champaign.
The victory was sweet for Glenbard West, which was ousted in the second round of the playoffs last season by Lake Zurich.
