Glen Ellyn – The Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) will be closing the Main Street crossing from 9a.m. on Tuesday, April 24 until 3p.m. on Thursday, April 26 for track repairs. This work focuses on critical track repairs necessary to maintain peak rail performance.

A full detour will be in place for vehicular traffic that will utilize both Hill Avenue and Duane Street south of the UPRR and both Pennsylvania and Crescent north of the UPRR.  There will be no pedestrian crossing at Main Street. 

During the time that repairs are taking place, trains will blow their horns as they pass through town. This is a requirement per federal regulations due to UPRR crews conducting work on the right of way.
